From Dave Price #1

These were the seats or "pedestals" which Beatty had built in preparation for the 1935 Cole Bros act. With some modifications over the years, he continued to use many of them for the rest of his life.

I note that Jacobs also used those hook on to the arena pedestals but cannot recall any other cat act-trainer using them. Any comments from the experts out there?

had sent this in before Eric posted the same or a similar picture and before we had the discussion about the lions. If you lighten this picture you will see them.
