Also joining the show is real life detective Jack Stang (playing himself) whom Mickey Spillane has brought in to help with his investigation. (Stang served as the model for Spillane’s fictional detective Mike Hammer.) Stang’s plan is to pose as a magazine writer doing a feature story on the Circus. Using this ploy, he hopes to interview all of the performers and working personnel to see what he can learn about them.
