It's hard to see how even Dory Miller could have seen the bright side of these photos. Sorta gives meaning to the old saw "hold on to your horses; here come the elephants."
I would assume that the matinee started maybe an hour late o around that time. Hope they got the cookhouse on and Donicker tents up.
Buckles- Unless I missed something, a check of the Sells-Floto routes indicates that they played here one time. That was November 9, 1919.

Apparently, the show was to play Sunday, November 9, 1919, in Opelousas, LA, but the rain caused them to cancel the parade and the continuing downpour resulted in the cancellation of the evening show. Despite the early start on the teardown, the last wagon did not leave the lot until Tuesday morning. Already having lost two days because of Opelousas and with only two more dates remaining in towns where the lots were reported as very muddy, the show canceled its final engagements and returned to Denver. (By the way, the white wagons suggest years earlier than the Ringling era for Floto.)
