Llamas are a lot of fun to work with. I've had the opportunity to train four of them over the years. I can only imagine what it was like to have an entire Liberty act full of them.

I've trained a couple of solo llama acts. I'm not sure that "fun" would be the right word for training an act of 6 of them!!
..Fun.? We had one named Hugo..He was so mean, broke two of my ribs on Hamid, got Paul down one time and bit his leg..We still worked him till one day he attacked Daddy and we sold him..LOL..Well,I think we sold him, he disappeared real fast..LOL..
I have over some 50 yrs. worked, trained, owned and handled alot of llamas and guanacuos [kanakes]. Lots don't know the difference. Guanacuos are light brown with white legs, etc. All tje same. They are the best for liberty training. They movge fast and good jumpers. They "Craig animals" were guanacuos. They have a nice furry coat but not like llamas whicfh are heavy multicolored. Unfortunately as of late we don't find pure guanacuos. Even most zoos have turb=ned them out with llamas and they easily interbreed. Too bad. Llamas can be big, slow and lazy. I worked with Mrs. Ray and her liberty act with [yes] llamas was superb. No fast jumping but an excellent act and routine. john herriott
