The maestro himself, Bill Pruyn, and his great wife, Lee, mistress of the organ.
good folks, stuck to themselves--great musical scores for RBBB--their son was also in the band for a while and Archie Chan, a great guy, was the drummer; Lee used to read a book while she was playing the show--always cracked me up.
I hope that they knew just how wonderful they were and how much people thought of them. ~frank
Frank,
I hope they knew too. I was in awe.
Bill was one of the funniest and witty people I have ever known.
That wit translated into his circus scores. One example: the use of Cole Porter's lovely waltz "Wunderbar" from the musical "Kiss Me Kate" during the bear act.
And that's just one example.

After Bill left Ringling he became
the musical director of Sarasota
Concert Band for several years
(in quasi retirement)
