Actually, these are Lusse Auto Scooter cars, built by Lusse Bros. mfg. a Penn. company.
The drivers, who are now 80, are retired and living in Sarasota. They can be seen driving on Fruitville Road at a speed much slower than these dodgem cars.
Today they are driving the scooters in the big grocery stores and they still try to hit anything in their way!
Bob Kitto
Overheard at the senior center
"I'm blind in one eye and can
barely see out of the other
deaf as a doorpost and shake
so bad I spill the coffee
thank god I still have my license"
These electric cars received
their power from the floor deck
and the steel plates covering
the ceiling through the steel
wheels & the spring wipers on
the top of the poles that left
a trail of sparks
Chic;
That's right. One of the rear wheels was steel, therefore it acted as the grounding agent, while the fenced ceiling was the positive side of the electrical equasion?
I was amused when one of our local radio guys said regarding the traffic during a snow storm last winter, "Come on people, this isn't bumper cars!!!"
