I remember Ernie telling a reporter in San Antonio that it took two hours to don this makeup. He said he had to hide his makeup secrets from one pesky fan in particular who tried for years to learn how to put on the eyelashes. If some may have eventually figured it out, Blinko, reportedly nicknamed by C.B. DeMille, wasn't about to give it away.
