This was Charly's first year with the show, in fact I think he
joined after they were already on the road.
Frank Curry has a great story about being appointed to get
Charly, his cats and his car off the boat on a holiday weekend.

Thanks for bringing back the memory!
In my rodeo off-season,I was working in the press office for Mae Lyons,preparing for the Garden run.
It was the eve of Washington's Birthday and I had to get Charly's cats off the boat to join RBBB in DC.
This had to be completed before 5PM,as the Longshoremen's Union(ILA)would go into Triple time after that,because of the holiday.
Charly was very concerned about getting his Mercedes off the boat,and had a problem accepting the unions demands.
He was not pleased when I explained to him that we would have to send his car to him in DC.
