WALTER MCCLOSKEY

WALTER MCCLOSKEY, originally uploaded by bucklesw1.

Hi Buckles,

The smaller picture I sent you was Frank’s younger brother Walter.

Walter later managed the Beatty show and as very instrumental in bringing back Pugh after he no longer did his act.

Uncle Walt told me Pugh had a great pitch at move the people from the Blues to the Bandstand seats opposite the front grandstand, of course or an extra buck or two.

Thanks,

Ned

In my day, Joe Galasso shared assistant manager duties with Walter under General Manager Frank Orman.

Walter was known for his nightly query, "Is the Fish Wagon in yet?"

Many times, I stood by the tunnel and watched Johnny Pugh's hypnotic spiel to the Blues when many seats remained unsold in Section K, by the bandstand. The people got up and moved almost in a trance, and shelled out their extra dollars as if doing Johnny a personal favor.
