A great model builder and person. I met Harold about 25 years ago at a lot gathering we had here in Columbia S.C. He was a true artist when it came to detail and his craftmanship was the best of the best. I have a couple of Harold`s models in 1/4" scale that he gave me, most of his circus in 1/4" scale got destroyed, but he managed to save a few pieces. My Dad aqquired an old sunburst front wagon wheel years ago that I still have, Harold tried his best to buy it from Dad with no success. I was really looking foward to seeing Harold again at the CMB gathering in Sarasota next month. I don`t think I will make that gathering myself now since I`m scheduled for knee surgery on April 1. My sympathy goes out to Harold`s family at his loss. The circus modeling world has lost one of their best.

I met Harold Barbour as a young kid.He had his miniature circus at the Winter Park Mall in Orlando.Circa 1970 or 1971.
If my memory serves me correct he was at the Hoxie Tucker Tent raising in 1980.
I had chatted with him om the phone a couple of years ago.He had invited me over.He was proud of the fact that he put all his children through college.
He also performed as Skeeto the clown. He had much knowledge of the old days.

The anon. above is a friend of mine that spoke about Harold and his wife every since I have known them... I have never met Harold or his wife. but, when i hear someone close say such good and positive things about someone it makes me wish I had known him too. God bless him and his family.

I went to his funeral,it was a nice tribute to him.It was sad,but a little humor was mixed in as well.Jerry was a funny man, always quick with a joke or two.I will treasure a carving he made of me in full hairstylist attire.
