When did he morph from Billy to Billy Sunday, presumably the name of the famed evangelist [and former baseball player]?

Although not apparent in this photo, some pix show Billy Sunday's head rather large for his body or maybe his body too short for his head, and I believe Seils-Sterling called him a "Dwarf Elephant" in some of their advertising.

Your take on this?

I think Albert Cauble named him Bill after William P Hall; the Sunday part of the name was added later.

The only thing he ha going for him was his beautiful set of ivory.
Otherwise he was badly deformed, probably from Ricket.

Cauble had a wagon show and Hall sold him the calf when it was tiny. Cauble returned him to Hall after about a year?? Almost lost him to the weather if I remember.
Was a story in the Bandwagon in the earlier 60's about Cauble. Pretty good read.
