Yes, and I in turn was always Buckles. On the Cole Show I would enter the pad top and yell "Babe" to get my mother's attention in the ladies dressing room. It wasn't long before I was being lectured by the likes of Marion Knowlton and Mickey Freeman that "Mother" would be more appropriate and certainly make her feel better. I did as I was told but in private it seemed to make my mother uncomfortable. After we were married Barbara took Ben up to my dad and asked how Ben should address him and he replied, "Colonel Woodcock if you please!"
