That is one small clown or some damn big monks. Seeing chimps taught to ride bicycles and watching monks schooled, I would give it a ten to one on the time consumed on the training of monks over chimps. I will tip my hat to anybody who gets these furry little darlings to ride cycles; A neat photo.
I love this photo.Taking a closer look and an uneducated guess,here goes;
See Popo ride Ride Popo ride See Mr.Monks ride Ride Mr.Monks ride Look at Mr.Monks facial expressions while eye balling Popo Put the pedal to the metal Popo Faster Popo faster See the urge come over Mr.Monks to restyle Popo's wig ;and yes free of charge
I believe Lynne told me those "monks" were in fact baboons which might explain their size. From photos I have seen of Popo he was rather short in stature.
To R. Momyer If you have seen any monks I would lean toward "Rhesus" or in the direction of the "Macaque family. If these are indeed baboons it's a type I have not yet seen. Their heads are some what like the "Gelada" however the rest does not fit. PS.Was informed by my sister that she has recently seen some Macaques tipping the scales at fifty pounds plus that weren't fat and big enough to be changing tires at the truck stop.
To Mike Naughton Saw the monks on youtube. A two thumbs up to the dude and his monks.If memory serves me right,those are crested macaques. A well polished act. My father trained a peach faced macaque also a chimp to ride a unicycle. Both of my sisters trained baboons to ride bikes.I worked a little with monks however never got past training a handstand and a somersault on a chimp and one rhesus.
