Adjusted to 2009 dollars, these 1952 ticket prices work out as follows:

Grandstand Seats (5 Sections) $32.30

Grandstand Seats (Other Sections) $24.23

Bleacher Seats (For Adults) $12.11

Bleacher Seats (Children under 12 yrs.) $6.06

Considering all the show you got for your money, the Ringling Circus was definitely a better value in 1952.

The haltered zebras are Grevys, the largest and most aggressive of the zebra family. The zebras we see in circus acts are from the Burchell group, smaller and wider stripes. Having Grevys that could be managed well enough to wear halters is pretty impressive.

These two Grevys were imported in 1950 but they were never taken on the road. Gervys are tough as hell to handle.

The show got two more Grevys for 1956 and they went out with the show. They almost had to drag them to and from the lot and a lot of times they were just left in the stock car. Dave Mullany told me about that.
