An interesing thing about the rocketship design on this cannon barrel is that the nose cone partially remained in place during the shot.

This was actually the 1st double repeating cannon, and had upper and lower firing chambers. During the last 15 - 20 years of it's use however, it was only used as a single shot cannon.

The rocket nose cone was spread apart on the top portion, whereas on the other Zacchini "rocketship" cannons, the nose cone was completley removed.

Hopefully someone will step forward and restore this magnificent piece of American circus history!

That is at Butch Zacchini's house isn't ??? Does any one have info on contacting him..I haven't seen or spoke to him for a few years...

Chic, It is still in restorable condition...at least it was 6 years ago when I took these photos.
