From Buckles

I remember a guy, I think his name was Horst Reinholtz. He was a catcher in a flying act.
One day he came into Baraboo with a Field Piece similar to the one above he carried on a flat bed trailer.
He asked me if there was a possibility he might get a job there. So I introduced him to Bill Schultz who seemed interested.
Later in the day as he was leaving, I asked him how he made out and he said, "That guy wanted me to jump over the Baraboo River!"

My dad told of some of the early cannons that might not go BOOM until after the cannon had left the tent. He always thought that this was as funny as it could get.
