This is the cannon of Hugo Zacchini II, who is now retired living in Tampa. During this Hempstead date, Hugo, who was also a flyer was injured when he bounced out of the flying act net on to the concrete floor. A younger member of the flying act filled in doing the cannon for the remainder of the date.

This is "Island Garden Arena"
that I mentioned a few days ago
You can see the big permanent
grandstand on the right that
is running crosswise taking up
a full half of the floor space
The bleachers on the left were
portable and could be placed in
different positions as needed
Both of the old wooden arenas
(Commack & West Hempstead) are
long ago gone
That's a mighty classy ring curb
