When they opened the big USL door

to get the train in the sunlight

POURED in & obliviated any attempt

at theatrical lighting

I also recall more leaks in the

roof than an OLD canvas top

Notice the ring curb covers. I got promoted to Assistant Stage Mangier because of the way I neatly draped the ring. (And I polished up the handle of the big front door.)

We made several appearances on the Super Circus TV Show in the mid 1950's. In those days there was a large riding stable in down town Chicago where we kept the elephants.
We usually pulled in a day early giving us a free evening.
On one occasion I checked the newspapers and found the D'Oyly Carte was in town making an American tour.
The program opened with "Trial by Jury" (a curtain raiser) and concluded with "Pinafore".
I was delighted to discover that Sir Joseph had indeed "polished up the handle on the big front door!"
