Aided by a New York City private detective, Anton and Hofer trace Florian from Borelli to the junk man and finally to the East River railroad yards, where horses are shipped out to destinations that will not be very pleasant for them. Racing there in a taxi, Anton and Hofer begin a frantic search of the pens, even as horses are being loaded onto waiting stock cars. |

Robert Young once related that, during the filming of this sequence, former movie cowboy Buddy Roosevelt was hired to appear in some of the shots showing large numbers of horses nervously milling back and forth inside of the loading pens. During the course of the filming, Roosevelt was kicked in the face.
