Growing tired of having his show repeatedly kicked to pieces during Florian’s temperamental outbursts, Borelli sells him to a junk man.

In Cleveland in the early 1950s, there was a “paper rex” man who made his rounds in my Grandmother’s neighborhood using a horse-drawn wagon very similar to this one. Whenever I was staying with her, it was always an exciting moment to see him drive by.

As a kid in Los Angeles in the late 50's we still had Tony the Popcorn Man. Tony was a little, Italian immigrant who worked the neighborhood pushing a cart that sold penny candies and popcorn. Hearing Tony's bell ring was better than hearing the Good Humor Truck!

The cart was painted and looked like a circus wagon with sunburst wheels. ~frank
