"Barbara" #1 (From Buckles)

The three small elephants at right were delivered to the Al G. Kelly & Miller Bros. Circus in 1949. They were the first to be imported by the Millers and at this point still untrained. Three more were added the following winter.
The man in the nice uniform is Jack Lorenzo who was miscast when it came to training baby elephants and my dad was brought over late in the season with every intention of Lorenzo putting a cat act together, which failed to materialize.
