TIGER #4

TIGER-4, originally uploaded by bucklesw1.

TIGER came out right when the record industry was undergoing a “battle of the speeds” with 45-rpm and 33 1/3-rpm records both vying to become the successor to 78-rpm records. As was the standard industry practice back then, TIGER was released in all three speeds. (The LP version had a Gene Autry adventure on the flip side.)

These records were played on the children’s radio shows that I listened to starting when I was 4 years old. As a result, Frank “Bring ‘em Back Alive” Buck became one of my first heroes.
