This brings to the subject of "Peggy" and "Tessie"

Pictured above is "Tess" a grand old elephant with the Hagenbeck-Wallace Circus that was sold to August Busch Sr. following the 1922 season as a Christmas gift for his children. In 1927 he purchased a second elephant from H-W, this time a punk named "Peggy". Thirty five years later when I used to visit Benny White and Carly Peterson at Busch Gardens I was surprised to learn that those two names were still in use. As far as I know, they might still have a "Tessie" and a "Peggy" in the herd.
