This is Bill Golden, presenting a Hawthorn act.
These appear to be the same props that Trudy used, but then John duplicated everything.
I know the act Trudy presented was previously worked by Jacquline Zerbini, & John Cox, whether tis is the same act, I don't know.
How about it Wade????
Bill,
This was the original Hawthorn tiger act trained by Marcan with 9 animals, presented by Hank Lueck for two years then presented by Billy Golden and enlarged to 12 tigers and the lion Solomon. They are different props then Trudy used, although there may have been one or two of the small pedestals used. It they were heavier then the others out of a better grade of stainless they were the originals. Actually in a sense, this was eventually the act Susan Lacey took over in 1993. When the whites were added in 1977 and the act became 17, the lion became Cox's lion for his lion and tiger act which eventually became the act Jackie and Trudy worked. Over the years animals were replace in this act with white animals, then Campolongo took the act after Ringling, then Allan Gold, then Susan. That act started from this act with gold tigers and the lion. The fire jump I took out, in 1977 and replaced it with a jump over and a leap frog. The bridge was replaced in 1978 with the more familiar drop over one, and the barrel was also taken out in 1978 and replaced with a hind leg walk. You can't imagine how crowded the cage was with 17 animals plus a bridge laying at the front plus the barrel, hurdle, fire hoop. We needed room to roll 8 tigers over and sit the 17 up.
