Shorty Hinkle drove 34 Wagon, upon which, when spotted, an awning was set up for Clown Alley. His shotgun was Pete the Porter, the longtime nightwatchman and a tunnel-man for the Beatty cat act. Shorty had extentions on the pedals so he could drive what he called "My twuck".
Roger, I remember when they had to take the tractor off the show for a few days and Jim Cunningham had nothing good to say about the pedal extensions. Bob Kitto
Also, the semi was the band sleeper, with funnel, hose and all. Buck Nolan slept in the front end where they knocked out the front fo the bunk so he had room to let his legs fall over the end. Can you imagine taking a bath on newspapers and letting the overflow fall where it may? Times have sure changed! Bob Kitto
