RBBB Philadelphia 1951 (From Chris Berry)

RBBB Philadelphia 1951 017, originally uploaded by bucklesw1.

As a followup to the earlier thread about the $30 parking at the new Newark Prudential Center to see "Bellobration"...I would wager that the parking for THIS particular show was free (or maybe a buck for the Boy Scouts)....Reserved seats under the big top at $4.25 and $3.25. I suspect more than a few of your readers would gladly pay $1000 to be able to step back into time and be a part of this throng on the midway in 1951. (I know I would!)

Consumer price index inflation calculation shows 4.25 to be 37.00 and 3.25 to be 27.00 in this years money approcimately.
To see that show of that size it would be a bargain.
Zing zang zoom whats happening? Carson and Barnes playing indoor shrine dates and Ringling doing one day stands.
In my wildest dreams I never dreamt that that would ever occur.

In 1952, the reserves were $3 and $4. Why was the reduction made in 1952? I recall that there was a solid econony. Maybe there was a strong economy for the oil people that we didn't know about .

Perhaps the price of tickets varied depending on the location. If the economy was better in a big city (like Philadelphia) maybe the prices were increased? Thoughts?
