Chic Silber #2

BOTTLE, originally uploaded by bucklesw1.

Hi Buckles

In regards to the recent mentions of "bottle" walks

I'm attaching a photo of the original prototype of a "bottle"

that was part of a prop I designed and created for Charly

Baumann many years ago that I keep in my office

Charly had seen something similar in Europe and explained

what he wanted it to look like and that he wanted each of

them to light up in color as the tiger walked across them

I created cylinders of expanded steel that could support

the weight as well as allow sufficient open area for light

I placed alternating colored gel between the steel and the

clear lexan protective sleeve (not show in the original)

I believe that one of your photos of the long mount with

you and Barbara shows this prop suspended above the

mesh arena being raised (with the color installed)

Best always
Chic

Chic,
What an incredible piece of memorabilia. You are a lucky man to have possession of a part of what should be recorded as the Greatest Wild Animal Act. Music, Lights, Props, Behaviors, Presentation. All 100% meshing for a once in a life time presentation.

Rog,
I remember the tall skinny things that looked like plant stands, that stayed in the middle of the floor as the floor wasn't needed for anything else. Is that what you were referencing? We were talking about this deal that lowered down, and after the Pink Panther played, it was winched back up, so there was room for a 6 tiger roll over, a big tiger sit up, a hind leg walk and three pistoning up and down turning mirrored balls, while Shangri La played in a dark coliseum with a gazillion million spot lights on it.
