(They were no doubt inspired by the Hawkmen from the Flash Gordon serials.) In the 1960s, when the Adam West BATMAN TV series was all the rage, DARKEST AFRICA was edited into a feature film version for TV titled BATMEN OF AFRICA so as to draw in the unsuspecting.
