Am I missing something here? It looks like the wagons are blocked, but not chained. If this is the case how did they ever arrive in one piece? Bob Kitto
When they are chalked thats it. They are load3ed. Very rarely would any chains or extra holod downs be used. Chalks did the job. A LIGHT WAGON MIGHT HAVE ITS SPRINGS TIED TOGETHER, BUT THATS ABOUT IT. tHOSE cHRISTY WAGONS WERE READY TO ROLL.
