The Lightning

Dressed all in black, with a black cape and helmet, the Lightning (seen here about to dispatch someone using his hand-held lightning bolt gun) was clearly the inspiration and prototype for Darth Vader of Star Wars fame. During the course of the serial, the audience is presented with several promising candidates for the Lightning’s true identity. (When the Lightning is finally unmasked in Chapter 12, he turns out to be the last person you would have suspected!)
