Buckles,
Speaking for myself, I am sure glad I was gone before they started asking the tiger trainer to do an aerial act, "in addition to". Same with horses. Can you imagine dragging the Col. up 30 ft. in the air, and watching him do heel hangs. LOL Frisco's probably hiding behind the elephants, hoping nobody looks in his direction.

Buckles,
I hope nobody see's this picture and assumes it is a European Circus,
just because it has a small cast, and play's to a "straw house" of some 1800-2000 viewers. It is still an American Circus, just copying the success, and "imagined better then them" of a European Circus, due to economic realities. I used to think people were nuts when they looked at the 70-80's Ringling Brothers and whined that it was nothing like it used to be. Just as they now think were nuts, when we whine that it is nothing like it used to be. As magical as it was to "break in" in the 70-80's it sure sucks to get old.

Buckles,
Just heard. Word from the Red show is there is a trapeze bar hanging by the Frisco trailer. Before we jump to a conclusion and buy our ticket in advance, it might not have anything to do with Joe. But wouldn't you love to see him "lowered" down into the elephants? He is also lunging Ginny a couple of miles a days, so it might be hers. I don't suppose he will confirm or deny, being intimidated by the threat of being buried up to his neck in an ant hill.

Rumor goes that joe has being seeing practsing late at night on the trapeze wearing a Bello Wig CleanRaul
What is the diameter of that ring curb? It sure does look small to me.
Whoops! I thought that it was only a stage show instead of an arena show, even if it is awfully small.
Without having actually measured the ring curb, I would say it was a normal 40 to 42" ring. Sylvia Zerbini worked her horse act / lyre in this ring the last four years. Let's face it folks, for $20.00 seats being top prize except for the chairs on the floor, this was a great show. The gentleman doing the bicycle routines, was named Justin ???. He was hysterical. He captivated the audience every time he appearred. No, it's not the 1970's 3 ring extravaganza with a 10 million dollar wardrobe, but it is a great family show none the less.

PS: As a Historian and researcher of circuses past,I chuckle every time I see the same story about the circus isn't what it used to be and probably never will be again. Those same articles are dated in the early 1900's, 1920's, 1940's, etc. We aren't voicing anything new, just re-hashing it.
A one ring circus playing the third tier markets should not be called RBBB The GSOE.
This is equivilant to booking a room at the Ritz Carlton only to be shown to your room at the Holiday Inn.
