Wow, B-I-G, but who and where and
when? Harry Locker had two big Africans at the Catskill Game Farm a number of years back...Sheba and I can never remember the male's name. Then Brett Bronson had Willy
awhile back and back then he was said to be 9"3" at the shoulder.
More questions, how tall was Tommy
and do you know how tall Ned is now?
Does Richard Reynolds know how tall
the Bronx Zoo's Sudana was or Khartoum.
Many thanks & all best,
Paul Gutheil
I believe his name was Samson at the L.A. Zoo. I visited Scott Riddle and somewhere have a photo with Scott, Samson, and myself. Strange feeling to look up to see an elephant's chin -- he was BIG.
What about carden's Bo?
Dan the booker'
Not even close to Samson. He was a monster. Nickolous was 9' 5" "out the door".
Wade Burck
Paul,
Ned is quite tall, but height to weight proportunatly is what's impressive, and indicative of a monster.
Wade Burck
Buckles, Damn that is so funny. Will you let Saraso Ta Da know where I am, if he/she is looking for me? Thank's
Wade Burck
This has to be Samson with Scott. I would guess around 12 feet in this photo. Buckles, Bill from your herd was quite large last time I saw him with Ted down in Venice.
I think they billed Casey at KC zoo as the largest in USA and about 13 feet, but believe Samson was larger.
Mr. Burck,
What does Nickolous have to do with Carden's Bo? Bo is 21 Nick is 16 right? i do believe Bo would be larger than that, I am not saying bigger than Sampson, but still quite large.
DanTheBooker. Take a road trip and see more elephants.
Mr. Booker,
You may be right, I just gave Nick's measurement as a point of reference to Paul Gutheil's measurement of Willy at 9' 3" FYI, in no way inferring anything about Bo. Thank you. Your apology is accepted.
Wade Burck
Wade, I give you my already accepted apoligies. I misunderstood you. I do find that Stat on Nic interesting. Best to you. Are you home yet?
Anonymous, you expect me to take directions from a faceless voice. Okay, I leave for Florida on Friday, where I intend on seeing several elephants, both there and on the way. I'd give you my best, but with your identity hidden, I'd rather not.
DanTheBooker
Mr. Booker,
You did realize we were talking about a Male African Elephant, when you offered Bo, an Asian Male as comparision, didn't you?
Wade Burck
Dan, I confess. That particular anonymous was me. I'm ashamed. Won't happen again. Like Wade I was trying to gently suggest that you were comparing an Asian male with an African male and seeing more African males might be beneficial. Some of them puppies is TALL.
Though Samson is obviously African and Bo, cleary Asian, the well known, commen knowledge fact that Africans are larger than Asians rule slipped my mind.
My apoligies to all partys involved in this post. Especially Mr. Burck, and except Anonymous, becasue I meant what I said!
I saw an elephant in Williston, FL that was definately the largest I ever saw. I was told he was 17,000 lbs and my head came up to the bottom of his stomach...I could have walked clear underneath him.
gary jacobson's male SMOKEY is pretty large but vance his father is larger in body mass...
Did that Stud Farm weight come from Sean Quinn?
Buckles,
I just assumed the anonymous talking about an elephant in Williston was Michu.
In a recent download, which I assume you received also, about an elephant issue in Australia one of the "experts" claimed he could tell the age of an elephant with in a couple of year's. I applauded his skill, as I have known people to be off by 30 years or more.
Buckles,
Who is Sean Quinn by the way? I don't believe I have heard of him or met him?
Wade Burck
Anonymous (not the Ben anonymous)
17,000 lbs. ??????
really ????
I feel you watching to much TV if you bought that one.
Wade,
Take it easy on the "agent" he is aspiring to a life of exaggeration."why yes Mr. sponsor, we have herds and herds of elephants, all bigger then PT's Jumbo"
Mr. Trumble,
Anonymous? Although I must admit, I tried the name once myself, and didn't care for it. Great job on the retraction my friend.
Last I will add, Gibbs once showed me a photo of this elephant with him in it, and it was honestly the only time I saw Gibbs look "small" Samson defines Elephus Gigantimus
Anonymous,
Was that 17,000 lb. elephant made of concrete or wood?
Bob Kitto
