Thanks for posting my query. I am not on the phone son have no direct internet link (yes, I know....) so use Public Library access 2x a week (Tues & Thurs). I had replied to the 2 comments last Thursday but was obviously just "timed out" by the library's system then.
Thanks for both replies, I am happy for my email address to be put out if you want - my replies might be slow though! I had tried Circus World (twice) but got no replies so will try again, the San Antonio source was new to me, so many thanks. I have got copies of "Four Years in" (shame there were five....), the McCaddon photos, & "Last Triumph". I'd certainly be interested in any of the French Railroad item as that was my original direction of researches as a UK Model Railway Magazine ("Model Railway Constructor") published drawings based on those from the booklet - alas, they were blown up so detail inevitably suffered. I had this stupid aim I'd build all the railcars in OO guage (4mm to a foot - roughly your HO) and model all 103 cages/wagons - so started looking for photos of 'em. Well, it developed into a general reseach of the two visits with 89-90 the least well covered here. I've now researched both visits as far as possible and am looking at all my texts and wondering what next (I thought of 2 books, but there's still a huge amount of text).
Anyway, I was intrigued by the mention of a "recent book on the UK portion" - really?? I've certainly not seen that over here. We have several Cody books but no B&B ones I'm aware of. Alas, most US books I've seen barely mention the show's visits here/Europe or have large errors - plus performers then were always changing ages/countries/getting dates wrong! Thanks again to you & repliers.
