Pat, there seems to be a lot of pictures of people laying down in an arena. I still don't doubt you, about staying on ones feet in an arena, but could they all be wrong?

Oh for cryin' out loud! Here we go again. If I've said it once, I've said it a HUNDRED times: when working with big cats, REMAIN UPRI..... nevermind. I've expressed how I feel about this trick enough already.

There was a time, not all that long ago, when the predominate concept of a person in a cage, with giant beasts, was more about bravado than inteligence, either human or animal
It seems like presently the "tricks" being presented accentuate the inteligence of the animal their agility and grace, and the communication and co-operation between man and animal.
Do people really flock to NASCAR to see the wrecks ?
Shocking ! LOL

P.S.: my levity in no way expresses any disrespect for Mr. Vos' ability or talents. I deem him a very competent animal trainer

Hey Casey and Shane,
How come LAD never suck's up to any of us? I don't remember him every "deeming" us anything. I guess he forgot who issues him his passport.

Casey: you asked 'could they all be wrong?'

Right, wrong, I really couldn't say- but I am 100% committed to not putting MYSELF in a vulnerable position like this. It's definitely wrong for me!

Some of the greatest trainers in the world have performed this trick, Chipperfield, Court, Houcke, to name a few. So I'd have to go with their expertise and judgement.

GGW also performed this trick in his leopard act

Right, right, I GET it! I'm not knocking the trick, or those who have done it- I'm just driving the point home that I personally think it's nuts.

And this from someone who stuck her head in a lion's mouth? yeah, Ok. The point is, we are all entitled to our own opinions regarding risk. And for me, the cover is too risky.

I admire those who have done this trick and gotten away with it. They must know something I don't know. But I just don't see a way out if something goes wrong, and that makes me uncomfortable!

Simply because others have done something successfully does not give me the go ahead to try to do something at which I'm convinced I'd fail.
(Afterall, I never remarried either...!) ha

Has anybody noticed that there are a dozen different variation's of this stunt? If you have, you will have noted that it appear's in a select type of act. I don't recall seeing a photo of Court doing a cover.
