I have a couple of thoughts on these pedestals, but I won't presume to be a 'feline expert'...
First, I was so busy disliking this trick I didn't even notice the pedestals. Secondly, they don't look very stable. Third, it looks like Larisa took a trip to Mexico, bought one of those souvenir twisty-vine-tables they sell there and thought, "OOoo! Now THERE'S a great design for my tiger pedestals!"
as with the picture above, I wonder what the mechanics are in teaching cats to carry things in their mouths, especially when there is some weight on it. I know how to teach dogs, of course, but that requires some hands-on.
Is this the same act? I notice same year, same show, and same trick of cat holding thing in mouth, once is enough, pick one! Guess it keeps their mouths busy. Don't like the pedestals, won't stack! Not sure leaving the classic pedestal design is necessary at all!
Though I am no "Expert" on anything, I think the pedestals look alright, I don't care for the fact that the cats cant go through them, but they are unique looking. As long as I never had to load them, they are great. I have been working on a similar behavior,,uh,,,trick with my tigers and have found it is much easier for the cat, if they have fore paws up on the jump stools, and the rear paws on a lower stool. Just my UN-ANONYMOUS opinion
To anonymous, teaching a cat to hold an object like this is easier than one might think because of the pressure pulling away. However holding something with little weight, like a fire stick has proven a little trickier for myself.

I don't like them.
Hmm, I thought it is a pretty cool looking trick - pedestals probably wouldn't be too stable if they were on grass, but look unique enough
