King Bros. Circus #2

When we were showing Alverado, Vera Cruz 4/16/73, we visited this show in a nearby town. It was framed much smaller than at the time this picture was taken.
In my journal I wrote that the elephants were "Margaret" and "Mabel" (from C&B), "Bonnie" (from Mills Bros.) and two punks "Chi Chi" and "King" (a male).

I'm curious about the hay situation in Mexico. How readily available is it? Doesn't seem like many regions would be suitable for hay growing.

After we got down into the interior it was a big problem until one day someone asked, "Will elephants eat avena ?(oats)" which turned out to be oat hay. This fellow followed us all over Mexico with his small flat bed truck delivering hay, even as far south as Acapulco.
