Kelly-Miller Spec 1950's #12

For the 1950 spec, Logan mentioned to my dad that on the Ringling Show they had used an elephant to carry a girl in a hoop. "Tena" had done the "leg carry" ect. for years so it was a no-brainer.
This is Shirley Lindermann who was Freddy's wife at the time.
Little did they know that a few years later this would be one of the highlights in a DeMille film.
I wonder how far back this stunt went. Looks like something John Murray Anderson might have come up with.

I think the mahouts get credit for this one. I remember a series of 19th Century photos taken at an elaborate festival or possibly a wedding with finely clad Indian nobles seated on swings in some kind of procession.
