Kelly-Miller 1951

Scan000010586, originally uploaded by bucklesw1.

This wreck appears to be on a back road. Deacon and Davie MacIntosh shop truck already at the scene, along with John Carroll and Whitey Thorn working the harness elephants "Margaret", "Elsie" and "Tena".
This occurred in Pleasant View, Tennessee 9-25-51 and my dad received the picture from John Walling of Springfield, Tenn.
Dave, is this name familiar?

John Walling was an old timer- I think a show guy years back- who lived in Springfield and made a famous hand-carved model circus which he sold to one of the Lindemanns, who then used it as a ding show attraction.

I visited Walling several times but the only model of his I ever was saw was a dandy red and gold steam calliope wagon he had not sold. Walling must have been gone forty years or so.
