RBBB 1943 #3

"I never met Blankets but this picture looks to be a different man than the earlier photo and there weren't any baby elephants on the show in 1943. I would suggest this is a publicity photo from the 1950's taken in Sarasota. Are those polo mallets?"

Nine Blankets - I checked Connie Clausen's book "I Love You Honey But the Season's Over". On page 48 she said - "Nine Blankets was a tough-talking kid from South Boston. He was perpetually cold at night, and used to steal blankets from other men's bunks while they slept..one morning they found him snuggled under nine of their blankets, and his new name was born."
