This is a photo of my father.Yes he was a student of Alfred Court and work till 1940 at RBBB. it had quiet a few different species of animals in it,i think he said 20-22 animals.How did you get this photo? i have just received the photo back from a exhibition in Melbourne Australia. he is still doing well and would appreciate to hear from his fellow animal trainers if they want to sent a message.
Fritz Shultz was interred in 1942 as an enemy alien, since he was a citizen of Germany? The FBI arrested him while the show was playing in Philadelphia
Of course it now seems silly to claim that a big cat trainer was a threat to national security but in those emotional days, that cut no water. After all, we locked up most of the Japanese-American community of southern California.
