Cute picture! But Buckles, you as an elephant man should know that the Elephant Hotel in Somers, NY, is the "cradle" of the American circus! Some claim Wisconsin as the mother state of circuses though I believe New York might qualify. Chap and Bob Parkinson claimed Baraboo as the "circus research center of the world" and had that once emblazoned on the door of the museum library. Others claimed that "research center" described some place between Xenia and Columbus, Ohio, the towns where Dick Conover and Fred Pfening lived!
