Ringling-Barnum 1941 #8

At last the bulk of the herd arrives, 36 elephants or so that includes those performing in the ring, appearing in spec (howdahs) and the two "African Pygmies".

Richard Reynolds says - -

Now, here we see the three bull cars of the first section. Note they are all hooked together. They were nos. 28, 29, and 30. The 4th elephant car, no. 27, was with the 2nd section.

Note also how the elephant cars are taller than the ordinary stock car on the left. Howard Tibbals said the difference was 10”. The camel-zebra car, no. 26, was also taller like the elephant cars.
