Attached are photos scanned from the View-Master packet on the Old Milwaukee Days parade. There is no copyright information, but these date from before View-Master was acquired by GAF in November, 1966. No historical information was provided on the wagons that appear in the photos, and none of the clowns are identified by name. (Once again, the Bloggers should be able to supply us with most of the important information.) Eric |

I can't speak for the other photos in this set but the Mt. Vernon flatcar on the right lettered Clyde Beatty Circus was acquired in November 1965 by the Joseph Schlitz Brewing Co. from what was left of the World of Mirth Carnival. It was 70 feet long and has been documented to go back to the Sparks Circus before moving on through history. The Circus World Museum bought 5 additional cars in October of 1964, deferring payment until July 2965 then had to make the necessary repairs in Winston-Salem, N.C. before the railroads would transport them to Baraboo, WI. Incidentally the remaining flatcars from the World of Mirth sale were sold to Foley & Burk Carnival in Ca. That being said, that makes this photo from 1966, the first year this car was used in the Old Milwaukee Parade. It was eventually discarded due to it's condition and the stopping of the parade in 1973. It is presumed to have been sold for scrap metal as was three others from The Museum's inventory. No one seems to really remember anymore for sure but a couple people have recollections to that effect.
