Dear Buckles,
My wife Dorothy went to the Ringling Art School and spent a lot of time at the elephant kraal during her Animal Drawing class. She loved the elephants- especially Ruth and Walter McClain didn't seem to mind taking Ruth out of the barn every time Dorothy and her two girlfriends came out for class and instructed them on being "elephant girls". Maybe he thought we might be interested in joining the show.
Dorothy and I were married in Jacksonville on January 18, 1940.
