This is the year that my dad, then a boy, saw Buffalo Bill with Sells-Floto in Dallas. It was one of the great events of his life and he was still talking about it on his deathbed eighty-four years later.
Before people thought in terms of "superstars" or even coined the term, Cody was one. He was surely one of the most famous men on earth in his own day. Showmen recognized this when they elected him as the first president of the Showmens League of America. He inspired many a young boy in America, and elsewhere.
