No... It looks, from the construction in the background, that they were still working on the back area. I got there a while after Hugo arrived. They had already extended the concrete in the front of the elephant barn to keep the bulls from playing in the dirt all day, and blowing it on the towners! The 2 barns were finished. Jack Joyce had the camels in the second barn. Turk also had a stall in the back of the second barn and Nirvana had an enclosure on the front corner of the second barn. As I recall there was an OLD cage wagon around that area, too. The bunk-house trailer was just behind the fence for the one-ring "show" area and your trailer had a swingset (or some apparatus!) in the yard for Shannon & Delilah. Oh, and the Carousel was already running, but that is as far as the "PARK" went at that time.
The only cat I really remember was Nirvana. Barbara got another leopard cub, but I can't remember it's name. I think that was later on, in December. You and Barbara asked me to go to the Showfolks Circus to handle Nirvana (that was the weekend of your anniversary - it was either the "14th on the 15th or the 15th on the 14th").
On the trip back to Circus World from Sarasota you pointed out the Beatty Show arrows along I-4. I was fascinated at the thought of someone going ahead of a show and marking the way! (Boy was I a FIRST-OF-MAY! Little did I know at that time, that I would spend 12 years following those arrows!)
When we returned to Circus World, I met little "Charlie" he was a brand new baby, then, and ssooo adorable!
I remember meeting Charley Bauman at the showfolks club that weekend and also had the opportunity of meeting Gunther in your trailer one morning. Karen was there, too...Remember, Karen?
