Odds and ends #1

I am clearing my desk of a few remaining odds and ends this morning including this historical gem taken in the Big Apple back yard while showing Brooklyn.
Some members of the Ringling Show appearing down town in the Garden dropped by to visit and bring Barbara some flowers. Mark Pilger at right but I can't remember the name of the lad at left. He was a member of Pedro Reis aerial act from So. Africa.
In the background, Dick Fick and I were lusting to join in the line but dared not.

Mark Pilger did a single trap with a heel catch as Mark David? Is that right?

OFF subject: The "BETTY HUTTON" obit does not mention her role in the movie "THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH" in Circus Verns e-mail this morning.

When I showed this picture to my wife her first remark was "I am the only one whose toe is improperly pointed."

Anonymous, Yes that's right about Mark Pilger. The other person in question is Stanley Bauer, formerly with Pedro superb act. Both are incredible performer's. Dick Fick was also a great clown. Is he still working? Wade Burck

Betty Hutton got a full obit in the LA TIMES, with coverge of her learning trapeze for GSOE. The TIMES being in an industry town, gives obit space to the stars and the great old character actors other daily papers do not provide. Some are extensive. Miss Hutton got over half a page. When Jack Paar died, he got a page-and-a-half. When Robert Mitchum and James Stewart died one after another, their obits went on for three pages.

Wade is correct, that is Stanley Bauer - appearing tonight with Brian Boswell's Circus 7.30pm at Beaufort-West, S.Africa...... if any of you are at a losse end and want to pop over ;-)

Barbara, beautiful Barbara, I feel really sorry for any redblooded male, American or otherwise, who notices anything about your toes.

With all due admiration & respect,

Hi Wade

Stanley Bower wanted me to send his regards after seeing that picture I showed him and your comments. He says to tell you he is alive and well!
