 I would have never recognized him, I never saw Mr. Raffo smile. Tim Holst brought him up from So. America in late 1994 sight unseen and dropped him off with us while they tried to figure out something for him to do. He couldn't speak a word of English. Here we are using him as a projecile, that's Shannon and me on each side of "Karen" and Graham Chipperfield sitting on the ring curb. We returned to Big Apple Circus not too long after this picture was taken so I have no idea how all this turned out. I wasn't aware he worked the Chipperfield tigers until I read your comment.  |

Mr. Woodcock irember returning to the blue show again to hook up with you till there was a opening in the barn but working conssesion meantime .and you telling me to tell Raffo how to say Move up and Steady cause he did not know one single word in english only moans n grunts similar to the command words. sometimes he would come and find me and ask me how to prounce commands in English . as i recall he told me he was from Columbia not Urugay . i may be wrong on that . he also told me his dad work lions in columbia and brazil .
