Circus Vargas #1

I think it was 1989 Ben had "Anna May" with Big Apple and Chico and Karen Williams had the other elephans at Catskill Game Farm. This gave me and Barbara some free time so we went to the CHS Convention in Columbus where the host circus was Circus Vargas.
As it turned out Mr. Vargas made me an offer to come out to California and help Rex re-routine the elephant display. I had no idea Cliff was so ill and before I made it out there he had died.
Undaunted, me, Shannon and Dalilah made the long drive into the setting sun and joined he show at the last stand in El Paso and from there to the show's quarters in Pico Rivera, Calif.
These pictures taken by Bill Biggerstaff early in the 1990 season and shows the prelude to the elephant number in which "Brat" would skip around the ring and the chord for this ground sit-up was the cue for the rest of the herd to come in.
This was my first experience with canned music and it took a little doing to make it work out right.
