 America in it's original design was included with a number of other parade floats and patterned after figures on the Prince Albert Memorial in London. These vehicles were built to announce Barnum & Bailey's triumphal return from it's five year European tour. Seated on the buffalo is "America" and around her are an Aztec, Columbia, Canada and an American pioneer.  |
